about

Fingerstyle guitarist and singer songwriter Jimi Mack creates music that ‘sounds like Ernest Hemingway & Joni Mitchell’s lovechild’. Hypnotic, baroque fingerpicking and all-consuming baritone vocals warm the bones with ‘rich and weathered storytelling’.

Latest single ‘Soon’ tells a tale of two lovers, each lost in their own mind maze, struggling with mental health afflictions rendering them unable to engage in the raptures of love in its youth. Accompanied with the lap-steel guitar of Jason Hart and cello of Alice Robbins, the crescendo depicts a ferocious longing for the promise of a future.

During 2019 and early 2020 Jimi completed a 12 date solo tour of the UK, including a performance at the iconic Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club & a sold out performance at Nottingham’s Rough Trade.

Early 2020 will see the release of ‘Soon’, and a run of shows in the UK, Ireland & France.

lyrics

Soon, I'll be a man with hiking boots and simple pleasures
Soon, you'll be a woman with a clean house and a clean mind

Soon, I'll be a man - I think I'm off the algorithm but, 'I love you.'
Soon, you'll be a woman, with a book and an ale in a fresh spring.

Soon I'll be right
Soon we'll be good
Soon we can run

Soon, I'll take your picture by a European waterfall, or something
Soon I'll be a man and I will hold you whenever you require it love.

Soon I'll take you to Paris although you don't want to go
Soon I'll shake off this feeling like our love told my mother so
Soon we will take the train
Soon we'll be better
